Abstract: The Center for Advanced Land Management Information Technologies
(CALMIT) and the Computer Support Branch of the Conservation and
Survey Division have assembled a set of Nebraska spatial
databases. Vector format databases include: County Base, State
Outline, Section Corners, Roads, Towns, Streams, Railroads,
Miscellaneous Utilities and Transportation, Soils, Active
Mineral Operations, Deepwell ... Oil/Gas Exploration Wells, Center
Pivot Irrigation Systems, Water Levels, Registered Wells, Major
Land Resource Areas, Eco-regions, National Wetlands Inventory
(GRASS and ARC format), Land Use/Land Cover, Landslide
Potential, Earthquakes, USGS 7.5 Minute Quadrangles, Topography.
Raster format databases include: Elevation, Groundwater
Pollution, Vegetation "Greenness", Land Cover Characteristics,
Collection Organization: Center for Advanced Land Management
Information Technologies (CALMIT), University of Nebraska.
Collection Methodology: 80% reformatted from public domain data
from a variety of sources; 20% developed by CALMIT.
Collection Frequency: On a project by project basis.
Update Characteristics: Ongoing effort to add to databases by
digitizing in-house currently non-digitized information.

Dissemination Media: Hard disk back up on tape -- can FTP on
Access Instructions: Contact the data center. Online
accessibility is currently being developed through collaborative
project with state library system.
