The orthophoto is a rectified georeferenced corrected image of the Old Casey and Thala Valley Area. Distortions due to relief and camera have been removed. This orthophoto is shown in a map which is available from the SCAR Map Catalogue.
The Casey Station image mosaics were produced using ERDAS Imagine software.
The photography consisted of 3 runs and 13 photos which were: ANTC1099 Run 11 frames 1, 3 and 7. ANTC1099 Run 12 frames 1, 2, 7, 11 and 13 and ANTC1099 Run 13 frames 2, 4, 7, 9 and 11.
The scanned images were triangulated with ERDAS OrthoBase Pro. The RMS achieved was 0.7m for X and Y and 0.6m for Z. Ortho photography was then created using a DTM derived from contours supplied by the Australian Antarctic Data Centre. The images were colour balanced and mosaiced covering the entire Casey Station area. The Old Casey and Thala Valley subset was then extracted from this image.
