Summary
Abstract: The Deep Space Climate ObserVatoRy (DSCOVR) satellite is a NOAA operated asset to be located at the L1 point. The primary space weather instrument is the PlasMag sensor complement consisting of a magnetometer (MAG), which will measure the local vector magnetic field, and a Faraday Cup (FC), which will measure the solar wind proton/alpha bulk properties (wind speed, density and temperature).
